ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was raised on a farm in the shadows of the Strezlecki Ranges
in Victoria, which was undoubtedly the beginning of my love
of animals.
I started painting in 1995 while living in PNG. I watched
in fascination as a friend put a brush loaded with paint
to a piece of silk. I very timidly had a go and was hooked!
I returned to Australia living on beautiful Magnetic Island
in Queensland. My only formal studies in art were 1 year
of lessons with award winning watercolourist - Alison
Annesley (Townsville).
On returning to Melbourne I completed 2 trompe l’oeil
workshops with
Peta Laurisen.
This gave me the idea that art really can involve the viewer
and it didn’t have to been serious!
My love of art and animals has provided me with unlimited
ideas for creations, and I am finding myself spending more
and more time in my home studio just having fun!
Using the mediums of oil, acrylic and pastel I try to capture
the character and personality of an animal so that it talks
to the viewer. I also like to create the desire to reach
out and touch the animal.
For me, art and creativity is a passion and I am always
drawn to try something new.
Who knows what might be next!
